The Civil Rights Implications of Algorithms

The Connecticut Advisory Committee to the U.S Commission on Civil Rights examined the issue of algorithmic bias in Connecticut. This topic is one of first impressions for the Commission and its Advisory Committees. The Committee is examining the civil rights implications in the use of algorithms – a set of instructions for how to solve a problem – by state actors and agencies.
