Peaceful Coexistence: Reconciling Nondiscrimination Principles with Civil Liberties

This report examined the balance struck by federal courts, foremost among them the U.S. Supreme Court, in adjudicating claims for religious exemptions from otherwise applicable nondiscrimination law. The Commission heard testimony from experts and scholars in the field and a majority of the Commission made findings and recommendations.
