U.S. Commission on Civil Rights holds Monthly Business Meeting

WASHINGTON, D.C. — In accordance with the Government in Sunshine Act (5 U.S.C. 552b), the Commission on Civil Rights is holding a meeting to discuss the Commission’s business for the month of March. 

The meeting will be live streamed on the Commission’s YouTube page

  1. State Advisory Committee Presentations from:

    a. Ohio - “Source-of-Income Housing Discrimination”- This report examines ways landlords may decline or discourage housing applicants based on their lawful source-of-income, and to understand the impact of source-of-income discrimination on housing stability as well as other broader indicators of social and economic wellbeing.

    b. Puerto Rico - “The Insular Cases and the Doctrine of the Unincorporated Territory and its Effects on the Civil Rights of the Residents of Puerto Rico” - This report is the culmination of a multi-year study that included eight public briefings between 2023 through 2025 and the publication of four memorandums.

    c. Arizona - “Civil Rights and Disparities in Pediatric Healthcare Access for Racial and Ethnic Minority Families” - This report examines systemic inequities that contribute to unequal healthcare experiences and outcomes for Arizona families who identify as members of a racial and/or ethnic minority.
