White House Reappoints Commissioners to the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The U.S. Commission on Civil Rights announces the President’s reappointment of two Commissioners to new six-year terms.

On November 25, 2025, the White House informed the Commission of the following Presidential actions:

  • Christian Adams, of Virginia, has been reappointed to serve as a Member of the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights for a term expiring December 5, 2031.
  • Stephen Gilchrist, of South Carolina, has been reappointed to serve as a Member of the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights for a term expiring November 29, 2031.

The Commission looks forward to continuing its bipartisan work with Commissioners Adams and Gilchrist to investigate, report on, and make recommendations concerning civil rights issues in the United States.
