Current Topic

The Civil Rights Implications of Disparate Outcomes in Utah's K-12 Education System

The Utah Advisory Committee (Committee) to the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights seeks to examine implications of disparate outcomes in the state’s K-12 education system, which may have a discriminatory impact on students on the basis of race, color, disability status, national origin, and/or sex. In particular, the Committee will focus on the differences in educational outcomes and access within the protected classes. The Committee intends to identify areas for improvement and develop recommendations accordingly.
