Current Topic

Voting Rights in Florida - Revisited

The Florida Advisory Committee (Committee) to the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights seeks to examine voting opportunities in Florida. Specifically, this topic embraces a range of issues, including (i) potential disparities in voting opportunities within different counties; (ii) the impact of natural disasters and other emergencies on Florida elections; (iii) Florida’s withdrawal from the Electronic Registration Information Center (“ERIC”); and (iv) its establishment and operation of the Office of Election Crimes and Integrity (“OCEI”). The Committee intends to identify areas for improvement and develop recommendations accordingly.
