Florida Advisory Committee

Current Topic

Voting Rights Revisited

The Florida Advisory Committee (Committee) to the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights seeks to examine voting opportunities in Florida. Specifically, this topic embraces a range of issues, including: (i) potential disparities in voting opportunities within different counties; (ii) the impact of natural disasters and other emergencies on Florida elections; (iii) Florida’s withdrawal from the Electronic Registration Information Center (“ERIC”); and (iv) its establishment and operation of the Office of Election Crimes and Integrity (“OCEI”). The Committee intends to identify areas for improvement and develop recommendations accordingly.
