NLRB has two principal functions: preventing and remedying unfair labor practices by employers and labor organizations or their agents, and conducting secret ballot elections among employees in appropriate collective-bargaining units to determine whether or not they desire to be represented by a labor organization. The Office of Equal Employment Opportunity is responsible for developing, administering, and evaluating the Board's internal equal employment opportunity program.
