USCCR LEADERSHIP TO TESTIFY ON FISCAL AND MANAGEMENT PRACTICES

Washington, DC - The House Judiciary Subcommittee on the Constitution will hear testimony from the United States Commission on Civil Rights leaders, including two Commissioners, its staff director, and others tomorrow in an oversight hearing on the agency's fiscal and management practices.

Staff Director Kenneth L. Marcus is expected to offer testimony concerning management and financial challenges the agency faces, including implementation of recommendations directed to it, primarily contained in reports of the Government Accountability Office (GAO). He also is expected to discuss present and imminent reform measures that the Commission is adopting.

The hearing is scheduled for Thursday, March 17, 2005, at 9:00 a.m. in Room 2141 of the Rayburn House Office Building. Commissioners Russell G. Redenbaugh and Michael Yaki, among others, are also expected to testify. Copies of Mr. Marcus' testimony will be available at the hearing.
