USCCR To Issue Statement On Inadequacy Of Percentage Plans Press Conference Scheduled For Tuesday, April 11

Washington, DC--The U.S. Commission on Civil Rights voted by a 6-2 margin on Thursday, April 6, to issue a statement expressing concern about the capacity of percentage plans to replace affirmative action as a means of achieving diversity in higher education.

A press briefing to release the statement is scheduled for Tuesday, April 11, 2000, at the Commission's headquarters, 624 9th Street, NW, Washington, DC 20425, at 11 AM.
